The Beauty Evolution of Chloë Grace Moretz: From Tween Queen to Ruler of the Red Carpet!!

Chloë Grace Moretz has won our hearts in hit movies like If I Stay, Carrie, Let Me In, and Kick-Ass, but her acting chops make up just one of the many reasons why we’ve fallen for the star. Chloë kicked off her career at age 7 with a role in the TV show The Guardian, and wooed everyone with her laid-back air — but as she’s gotten older, her off-screen persona has become just as captivating (as evidenced in her cover story in our October issue!). Ahead, see the actress grow up in the spotlight — and all of her cool looks along the way!

OCTOBER 2005

Can we get an “awwwwww”? Seven-year-old Chloë hit the red carpet for the premiere of Dreamer in 2005 with the look of a star in the making. While her face was appropriately bare, sweet curled locks and a silver pendant necklace added a bit of formal flair.

JUNE 2008

By 2008, Chloë had already mastered her signature smize. A curled under blowout and rosy cheeks just accented her natural features even more.

JUNE 2009

Chloë played the bike-riding, relationship advice-giving outspoken little sis in (500) Days of Summer, but showed up to the premiere in full princess attire — complete with long, loose curls and tons of pink tulle.

SEPTEMBER 2010

Remember this Chloë hair? The actress’s asymmetric crop is one of the most iconic bobs of all time.

OCTOBER 2011

By 2011, the star was back to her long locks, wearing them in loose waves around her face. A little mascara, a little pink blush, and lipgloss helped her look fresh-faced and ready for a daytime event.

OCTOBER 2012

Hello Chloë! The Chanel: Little Black Jacket preview in London called for a super sleek look. Chloë delivered with slicked-back hair, a black smoky eye, and blush and highlighter to soften things up.

JANUARY 2013

If you’re looking for prom-spo, this one’s for you. Chloë’s undone half-up do is great for dancing, while her black lined eyes make her instantly photo-ready.

JANUARY 2014

Chloë might be known for her love of wavy hair, but she’s become a master of updos, too. A pink lip and (another) great smoky eye made chic complements for this voluminous bun.

MAY 2015

The annual Met Gala is the epitome of avant-garde fashion and over-the-top glamour. Chloë stood out by toning things down with this middle-parted low ponytail, brushed up brows, and slightly shimmering eyes.

JANUARY 2016

The actress tried out another fun lip hue in early 2016, matching her lips to the hot pink flowers on her dress. A middle part and bold brows added a slight edge to the look.

MARCH 2017

The golden, multi-toned hues in Chloe’s hair play well with coppery lids. Used as a liner rather than standard eyeshadow, the sparkly pigments perfectly highlight the color of Chloe’s eyes.
