Inter Miami is gearing up for the new season after failing to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs in Lionel Messi’s first season. The team is currently considering potential signings, and one of the players on their radar is none other than Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez, who is a familiar face to Messi.

Ever since Messi joined the club, rumors have been swirling around Suarez’s potential move to Inter Miami, raising hopes of a reunion between the two former Barcelona team members. Although Suarez had already signed with Brazil’s Gremio, the 36-year-old has recently revealed his plan to depart from the club in December, a year before his original contract’s expiration date. While playing for Gremio, Suarez participated in 42 games and managed to score 18 goals.

During a press conference, Inter Miami’s Manager Tata Martino shared that they are reviewing their needs for the upcoming season and considering scenarios with or without Luis. It seems that the team is currently exploring the possibility of adding Suarez to their lineup.

In the event that Suarez’s transition to Inter Miami is confirmed, it will be the third time that Messi has reunited with an ex-Barcelona mate. Just this summer, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have already joined him in Florida. Suarez and Messi formed a dynamic duo during their Barcelona days, winning four La Liga championships, four Copa del Rey titles, and a Champions League trophy.
