Last night, Neymar went live on Instagram with Memphis Depay and impressed everyone with his perfect English speaking skills. Following Neymar’s footsteps, the Atlético Madrid forward has also become a Puma athlete, sporting the German sportswear brand’s boots during his return from injury.

He was recently announced as the newest addition to the Puma family, who have made significant strides in recent years. Memphis went on Instagram Live and was soon greeted by Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, welcoming him to the Puma brand.

As they conversed, more than 200,000 viewers tuned in and were pleasantly surprised to hear Neymar speaking English. The Brazilian superstar has never really spoken the language before, and no one would have expected him to do so given that he has never played in the Premier League.

Neymar had a good conversation with Memphis, in which he expressed his appreciation for Puma’s unique style and wished his friend well by saying “take care, I am very happy for you” and “love you bro”. He also mentioned that the two of them would be linking up soon. Neymar proved to be fluent in their conversation.

Neymar had been sponsored by Nike for a period of 15 years, but he ended the partnership two years ago in order to sign with Puma. Though his English language skills are not too shabby, they are not quite on par with those of his teammate Kylian Mbappe.

In April 2021, after PSG won 3-2 against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals with his brace, the World Cup star impressed fans with his English-speaking skills during an interview with BT Sport. At the time of the interview, the former Monaco player was only 22 years old, and he gained numerous admirers for his impressive language abilities.
