Although Neymar could be considered as one of the best Brazilian football players of all time, he still has his fair share of critics who question his abilities both in Brazil and in Paris, where he currently plays for PSG. It can be perplexing to comprehend how someone with so much talent can face so much scrutiny, but it is more common than we realize.

Neymar acknowledges this fact and discussed it in an interview with Bandsports. He believes that it is unjust to blame only one player since football is a team sport.

Neymar responds to his detractors

The sport of football is a team effort and Neymar believes that it is not a solo sport. He admits that if it were, he would have already achieved all his goals. However, it’s not that simple, and the blame usually falls on the player with the biggest name. Neymar uses the example of Messi, who suffered in Argentina for a long time before finally winning the last Cup. He believes that Messi’s success was due to the team that played for him and helped him achieve success. Neymar states that he never shies away from criticism, and he knows his talent. Unfortunately, he has had a tough few months after falling short at the World Cup with Brazil, suffering an injury that ended his season with Paris Saint-Germain, and dealing with tension with PSG fans regarding his future with the club.
