Henry Cavill Wanted First Big Movie Paycheck to Buy $162K Audi R8 Before His Dad Convinced Him to Go for $1M Aston Martin DBS

Henry Cavill’s career has been a blessing to the modern-era audience and enthusiasts of film and television. His filmography consists of some of the most beloved adaptations – be it Superman or Witcher – and has given rise to a niche faction of a fandom that has fallen in love with what can only be referred to as a “Cavillian” version of mythology. And despite the recent turnout of events, aka the chaos of 2022, the actor has managed to retain the good faith and trust of his fans instead of being subjected to criticism, ridicule, or scrutiny. And among the painfully long list of subjects that fascinate people when it comes to Cavill, is his coveted collection of luxury cars.

The Story Behind Henry Cavill’s First Luxury Car Aston Martin

Growing up in the Channel Islands, Henry Cavill acquired a serious taste for acting after receiving a piece of life-altering advice from the Oscar-winning actor, Russell Crowe. The year was 2000 and Cavill was 17 years old when he decided to act upon his dreams and began his voyage across the pond. Soon after, when success eventually came knocking, the first big movie paycheck had to go into something that would reflect a dream come true. For Tom Cruise, it was his sister’s education. For George Clooney, it was repaying his friends for letting him sleep on the couch when he was broke. For Henry Cavill, however, it was luxury motorbikes and cars.

The obsession would soon grow into something worth almost $2 million, but it all had to begin somewhere. According to the origin story, soon after his payout from the 2013 DC film, the Man of Steel actor had walked into a showroom with his father in tow and an Audi R8 caught his eye. But with a bit of a nudge from his father and considering his love-hate relationship with the 007 franchise, it was only right that he walked out of the expensive showroom with the keys of a classic silver-grey Aston Martin DBS in his possession.
