Page Six reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hosted Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz at their Montecito, California, US home for a family dinner.

According to sources, this was an intimate meeting. In addition to the eldest son Beckham and his wife, Harry and Meghan also invited a number of other guests, including important figures and film studio executives, including Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins and his wife.

“Brooklyn and Nicola had a wonderful time. They found Harry and Meghan to be exceptionally kind, thoughtful and generous,” the insider added.

Meanwhile, People ‘s source emphasized that the Sussexes did not directly invite Brooklyn and his wife, implying that the two sides had mutual acquaintances.

The meeting took place amid ongoing media reports of tensions between the 1999-born chef couple and other members of the Beckham family. Brooklyn and Nicola did not attend any of David Beckham’s 50th birthday parties. They also skipped Victoria Beckham’s 51st birthday celebrations.

However, according to informed sources, the 9X couple received invitations to the Sussex family’s private home long before David planned to hold a series of birthday parties in both the US and Europe. Insiders claim that it was all a coincidence, there was no intention here.

However, on May 15, The Sun reported that Harry was fully aware of the discord between Brooklyn and his parents. The red-haired prince is said to have shown support for Brooklyn as someone who has experienced a similar family rift.

Meanwhile, Meghan and Nicola found common ground after both were accused of destroying their husbands’ families.

Sources revealed that Brooklyn and Nicola were grateful for the Sussexes’ kindness and understanding.

“It was a surprise invitation, but Brooklyn and Nicola were both very grateful to receive it. They are feeling vulnerable at this time. Harry and Meghan have been very sympathetic and kind to both of them… They haven’t seen each other because of recent events. It’s a coincidence but a welcome one,” a source told The Sun.

The foursome exchanged cell phone numbers, but it is unclear whether they still keep in touch.

Representatives for the Sussexes, Brooklyn and Nicola, did not respond when contacted by the press.

Beckham couple’s reaction

Like other insiders, the Beckhams have not publicly discussed their son’s meeting with Harry and Meghan. However, close friends told The Sun David and Victoria were taken aback by the news. Neither had any prior knowledge or foresight of the situation.

“Of course it’s a bit strange because they’ve hung out with Harry and Meghan and now their son is doing the same. David has no problem with Harry and has always been nice to him, even after his fallout with Victoria. They still keep in touch occasionally,” the source said.

Mr and Mrs Becks and the Sussexes were once close friends. This friendship formed before Meghan became a royal bride.

When she first went public with Harry, Meghan spent time staying at Beckham’s luxurious 6-bedroom house in Beverly Hills (Los Angeles, USA) to avoid the paparazzi.

The beauty born in 1981 was warmly welcomed and did not have to pay any living expenses.

When Meghan moved to Kensington Palace (UK) in 2017, the former Spice Girls member also enthusiastically gave makeup advice, assigned staff to help Meghan with skin care and hair.

However, the relationship has been strained since Meghan blamed the Beckhams for leaking information about her to the press and called to question her. Victoria denied it but Meghan did not believe it.

They remained in touch after that, but grew increasingly distant and eventually broke it off. The Beckhams attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018, but were not invited to the dinner.

In his biography House of Beckham (2024), author Tom Bower argues that the source of the problem is Meghan. She thinks she is a step above the Beckhams after becoming a royal daughter-in-law, and feels annoyed that Victoria is always more sought after.

Brooklyn has known Harry since their family’s relationship. The chef was just 13 when he last saw Harry, having dinner with his father at The Sun ‘s Millie Awards in 2011. Harry was invited and went over to say hello.

What’s more interesting is that while Harry and Meghan have become increasingly distant from their family, the Beckham family’s presence in the British Royal Family has grown.

In late 2024, they were invited to their first state dinner by King Charles. On May 13, Princess Kate was seen wearing a suit designed by Victoria to an event for the British Fashion Council in London. Victoria was said to be “deeply touched” by the gesture.
