Apa Clara is a victim of the uncommon genetic disease known as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome. Recently, the Brazilian international Neymar shared some pictures alongside Apa Clara, where they both held up a T-shirt with the inspiring message “Dream as much as you can, always do. Never give up.” The same message was posted on Neymar’s Instagram account alongside the images. Progeria is a rare genetic condition that only affects one person in eighteen million worldwide. Patients who suffer from this condition may experience symptoms of aging such as hair loss at a young age, and typically, they live until their mid-teens to early twenties.
