BREAKING NEWS: Actor and comedian David Alan Grier has announced that he will officially retire from acting in 32 years, after reaching the age of 95. In a statement released earlier today, Grier, known for his legendary career spanning decades in film, television, and theater, said he had made the decision after much thought and reflection. “I’ve always been about living life on my own terms, and at 95, I’ll have plenty of time to put my feet up, write a memoir, or maybe even start a podcast,” Grier joked in his announcement.

The news came as a surprise to many, as Grier, who has been a household name since the 1980s, has shown no signs of slowing down. With iconic roles on shows like In Living Color, The Carmichael Show, and numerous stand-up specials, Grier’s career has been marked by versatility, humor, and a dedication to the craft. Fans and colleagues alike have expressed their admiration for his ability to make audiences laugh, often while addressing deeper social issues with wit and charm.

While the announcement may seem tongue-in-cheek, Grier’s timing is undoubtedly fitting. “I want to give myself time to enjoy the fruits of my labor, but I’m not done just yet,” Grier continued. “There’s still a lot of laughs left in me. I’m not leaving tomorrow. I’ve got decades to go before I hit that retirement chair.”

Whether or not Grier will stick to his self-imposed timeline remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: His career is far from over, and his unique brand of humor will continue to delight fans for years to come
