Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia De Rossi have reportedly left the US and moved to the UK in the wake of the US election.
According to The Wrap, the former talk show host and the actress have relocated to England in recent weeks, reportedly telling friends the move across the pond was primarily due to Donald Trumpβs election win.
A source told the outlet that DeGeneres, 66, and De Rossi, 51, have settled into Cotswolds in the UK, approximately two hours from London.
Itβs believed the couple have no plans to move back to the US and are in the process of putting their Montecito, California estate on the market.

Another source tells TMZ that the pair actually bought their new UK residence before the November 6 election, but were βvery disillusionedβ with Mr Trumpβs win they immediately decided βto get the hell outβ of the US.
DeGeneres has long been an advocate for Vice President Harris, who lost the election to Mr Trump. In the past, the comedian has sung Ms Harrisβ praises on social media, writing in August, βThereβs nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come!! I canβt wait for @KamalaHarris to be our next president.β
Before the election, DeGeneres also urged her fellow citizens to hit the polls by reposting The Seneca Projectβs video highlighting various womenβs movements in the US.
βLetβs vote like our lives depend on it. Because they do!β she captioned the post.

βI had my whole adult life here [in California],β Longoria told Marie Claire earlier this moth. βBut even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then Covid happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether itβs the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to s**t on California β it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.β
The 49-year-old actress said the recent presidential election caused her to make the call.
βThe shocking part is not that [Trump] won. Itβs that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office,β she said. βIf he keeps his promises, itβs going to be a scary place.β
