All the celebrities impacted by LA fires
Many Hollywood stars were affected as a series of fires ravaged through Los Angeles in early January, with wind gusts topping 100 miles per hour in the Palisades, Eaton and surrounding regions.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency, forcing more than 100,000 Los Angeles residents to evacuate their homes.
Here is a look at the celebs who have fled in order to protect their families’ lives and their own.
Hollywood stars had to flee their homes due to a series of fires that broke out in Los Angeles County in early January.
Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton’s beachfront property was destroyed when the Palisades Fire made its way to Malibu.
The hotel heiress said she was “heartbroken beyond words” to see her vacation home “burn to the ground on live TV” in a lengthy Instagram statement.
She confirmed that her family was safe and said her 11:11 Media Impact team was coming up with ways to “best support” victims.

The tragic event came five months after the “Simple Life” alum’s trailer burned down on the set of her music video last summer.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt announced that they were sadly one of the many who lost their home due to the blaze, with the latter posing just a few yards away from the fiery home.
A source later revealed that the Montag and Pratt residence “burned to the ground.”
In an heartfelt post, Pratt shared on Instagram that the “one positive sign” of the fire was that his son’s bed “burned in the shape of a heart.”
The “Hills” alum concluded, “A sign of how much love was in this house so thankful for all the years and memories there with our family.”
Leighton Meester and Adam Brody

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester’s lavish $6.5 million Los Angeles property also burned down.
Photos obtained by Page Six showed the couple’s five-bedroom, six-bedroom house ravaged by flames.
A shot showed fire bursting through a garage door, with the roof completely burned off.

The couple — who celebrated Brody’s Golden Globes nomination just days before the massive blaze — did not immediately comment on the devastating matter.

Anna Faris was yet another Hollywood star to lose her multimillion dollar mansion because of the blaze.
Photos obtained by Page Six showed only the debris and destruction left behind by the disaster.
Faris’ mansion was eco-friendly. The “House Bunny” star reportedly purchased the Pacific Palisades property for $4.9 million in 2018.
Miles Teller

Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Teller, lost their dream home in Pacific Palisades, which they just bought for $7.5 million, as a result of the wildfire.
A photo obtained by Page Six showed the “Top Gun: Maverick” star’s property completely burned to the ground, with only materials from its foundation remaining.

A vehicle parked in the driveway of the home was also badly burned, per the images.
Neither Miles nor Keleigh has commented on the loss of their home yet, but the latter shared an Instagram Story post advising her neighbors to leave behind water bowls for animals trying to escape.
Eugene Levy

Actor Eugene Levy told the Los Angeles Times on Jan. 7 that he got trapped in traffic due to other fleeing residents attempting to leave his Pacific Palisades neighborhood.
“The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon,” the “American Pie” star said.
“I couldn’t see any flames, but the smoke was very dark.”

It was later revealed that Levy’s house did not survive the massive fire.
A photo obtained by Page Six showed what remained after the “Schitt’s Creek” alum’s property succumbed to the fire.
His son, Dan Levy, posted on his Instagram Story, “Heartbroken for my family, my friends and the people of LA affected by the catastrophic fires.”
Milo Ventimiglia

Milo Ventimiglia choked back tears while visiting the remains of his Malibu, Calif., home, which burned down in the Palisades Fire.
“You start thinking about all the memories and the different parts of the house and whatnot and then you see your neighbors’ houses and everything around and your heart just breaks,” the “This Is Us” star told CBS News on Jan. 9.
The tragedy struck as the actor and his pregnant wife, Jarah Mariano, are expecting their first child together.

The couple — who secretly tied the knot in 2023 — watched their house go up in flames on the security cameras.
“And at a certain point, we just turned it off,” Ventimiglia said. “What good is it to continue watching? We kind of accepted the loss.”
Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall

The pair bought the five-bedroom, five-bathroom Mediterranean-style house in the early 1990s, per the Daily Mail.
It has been reduced to ashes, as seen above.
Anthony Hopkins

Prior to living in the residence that was ravaged by the fire, the “Silence of the Lambs” star lived in another mansion in the same neighborhood for 25 years.
Billy Crystal

Billy Crystal was also among the growing number of stars who lost their homes due to the California fires.
The comedian’s property in Pacific Palisades burned down, with a photo showing that only the tennis court remained intact.
In 2018, Crystal gushed about his neighborhood, telling the Associated Press that it was the “perfect combination of the present and the future.”
“It’s got so many lovely places and spirit about it. The approach of the environment is here, there’s free bikes,” he continued. “… There’s great food … There’s all kinds of things that are there for everybody.”
John Goodman

The image also showed the blackened swimming pool that remains in the backyard after the blaze.
Goodman has not yet released a statement on his personal loss or the tragic events.
Cameron Mathison

Soap star Cameron Mathison announced via his Instagram Story that he and his family were able to safely evacuate alongside a video of the massive flames.
However, the “General Hospital” star then shared a separate, eerie video, in which he drove around his neighborhood, as most of its homes were engulfed by fire.
“The last property is where our house was,” he captioned the clip.
Mathison revealed on Instagram that only the grounds of his home and some greenery remained after the fire.
Mathison then stepped out of his car to walk around what little remained of the property, writing over another video, “We are safe But this is what’s left of our beautiful home.
“Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday.”
He added, ”Thanks to all who reached out and checked in. Can’t respond to all so wanted to give an update here. Sending so many prayers to everyone being affected by these fires🙏🏼.”
Cobie Smulders

Cobie Smulders’ Pacific Palisades home burned down in the Palisades Fire rapidly sweeping through Los Angeles.
The “How I Met Your Mother” star and her husband, Taran Killam, purchased the $5.6 million house in 2017 and spent a year on renovations.
In 2018, she told Architectural Digest that her biggest splurge for the house was solar panels and the most unexpected thing she added was a 40-year-old photo booth.
Diane Warren

Diane Warren confirmed her beloved beach house was destroyed by the California fires by sharing a photo of her sentimental rock.
“This is the last pic I took of Leah’s rock from my beach house,” the iconic songwriter captioned a photo of the rock in the ocean.
“I’ve had this house for almost 30 years. It looks like it was lost in the fire last nite. There’s a rainbow shining on it which I’m taking as a sign of hope for all creatures who have been affected by this tragedy,” she continued.
“The animals and the rescue ranch are OK tho which is the most important thing. Stay safe everyone.❤️💔.”
Melissa Rivers

Melissa Rivers — daughter of the late Joan Rivers — told CNN that her home perished in the LA fires.
“I grabbed my mom’s Emmy, a photo of my dad and a drawing my mother had done of me and my son,” she said.
“It’s amazing what you grab. … I went for a drawing of my mother’s, rather than a photo ’cause I know I can find the photos. [A drawing] I can’t replace.”
Melissa added that her “heart is so broken” for all those affected.
Cary Elwes

The “Princess Bride” star Cary Elwes confirmed his family lost their house to the fires.
“Firstly, myself and my family are all safe, thank God. Sadly we did lose our home but we are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire,” he wrote via Instagram.
“Our hearts go out to all the families impacted by this tragic event and we also wish to extend our gratitude to all the firefighters, first responders and law enforcement who worked so tirelessly through the night and are still at it.”
He added, ”We want to thank everyone for the incredible outpouring of support. It really means a great deal to us.”
Fergie

Fergie’s home was in danger of being burned down, but apparently still had a fighting chance, per TMZ.
Photos obtained by the outlet showed helicopters monitoring the damage from above, as first responders attempted to salvage any properties they could.
The former Black Eyed Peas member did not immediately issue a statement about the devastating ordeal.
Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck was seen driving off as he was forced to evacuate his property. BACKGRID
Ben Affleck was forced to evacuate his home and seek safer shelter further away from the impact area.
According to TMZ, the “Argo” director fled to ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s home, who reportedly lives nearby since the still friendly exes share three kids together.
Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore announced via her Instagram Story, “Evacuated and safe with kids, dog and cats.”
The “This Is Us” star, who shares three young children with husband Taylor Goldsmith, added that she is “praying and grateful for the first responders.”
It’s unclear whether Moore had to leave the $6 million mid-century property she has been trying to sell since last summer or if the family was already settled into a new place.
Fortunately, her home was spared from the fire.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s son Chet Hanks — who currently resides in Nashville — shared a heartfelt Instagram Story as the wildfire continued to spread.
He wrote, “The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground rn. Pray for the Palisades.”
Hanks and Wilson — who have owned many homes in the Pacific Palisades over the years, including one that was burglarized last fall — had to evacuate, but the home was safe from destruction.
Alabama Barker and Landon Barker

Travis Barker’s two oldest children, Alabama and Landon Barker, announced via social media that they were among the evacuees in Los Angeles.
“Just evacuated from my home due to wild fires in Los Angeles, please be safe !!” Alabama wrote. “They are saying the fires are spreading football field amounts in seconds.”
Landon added alongside a selfie on his Instagram Story, “praying for everyone the fires have affected.”
It’s unclear whether the siblings were forced to leave their father Travis’ home, which the Blink-182 drummer shares with wife Kourtney Kardashian. The reality star revealed she and the drummer finally moved in together nearly two years after their wedding because of the birth of their son, Rocky.
Ricki Lake

Ricki Lake took to Instagram on Jan. 8 to tragically announce that her home was “all gone” due to the California wildfires.
“It’s all gone. 💔 I can’t believe I am typing these words,” the former talkshow host captioned a photo carousel of her home.
“After a valiant and brave effort by our friend and hero @kirbykotler_ Ross and I lost our dream home. This description ‘dream home’ doesn’t suffice. It was our heaven on earth,” her lengthy caption continued.
“The place where we planned to grow old together. We never took our heavenly spot on the bluff overlooking our beloved malibu for granted, not even for one second.”
She went on to call the loss an “immeasurable” one as the home was also where she tied the knot with Ross Burningham in 2022.
Sandra Lee
Sandra Lee was also a victim of the ravaging fires.
“As the fire draws closer, I pray for it—- I pray for everyone in Los Angeles right now. What an incredibly terrifying moment for my community,” she captioned a series of videos shared to Instagram on Jan. 7.
“As the fire reaches our doorstep, please stay in contact with each other; Community in times like these is our lifeline.”
Although she said she was “safe,” Lee returned to social media the next day to confirm that her home was “gone.”
“My house is gone-I cried all night and thought about every room, nook, and cranny. It was perfection and now it’s just Ash,” she captioned the emotional video.
Despite initially believing that she had lost her home in Malibu, Lee revealed that her home “still stands” as of Jan. 13.
“I was able to go to Malibu late yesterday. It is with a heavy heart for my local community, yet the most shocked and grateful heart I share my home, Avalon- still stands,” she penned via Instagram.
“I could not believe my eyes to be one of 10 in my neighbor of homes still there. I do not know how.” She also said that she feels “guilty for being a part of a bubble of these homes spared.”
James Woods

James Woods, known for starring in films such as “Once Upon a Time in America,” initially took to X to reveal he was fleeing his estate by sharing a video of the blaze approaching his property.
“Leaving,” the “Hercules” star wrote in one post. He then added, “Hope everybody gets out safely.”
Woods later showed a close-up video of the fire directly on the outskirts of his backyard, and another of a nearby home on fire.

In a separate tweet, Woods thanked “all the wonderful people” who reached out to him and his family, and shared that they were “able to evacuate successfully.”
He concluded, “I do not know at this moment if our home is still standing, but sadly houses on our little street are not.”
Three days later, he revealed that his house — which he was told was “gone forever” — was “still standing.”
“In this hellish landscape ‘standing’ is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us,” he explained, while also sharing a video of his property.
Mark Hamill

He then sent well-wishes to others, adding, “Most horrific fire since ‘93 🔥🔥STAY SAFE! 🙏 🔥🔥.”
Jennifer Love Hewitt

“Police Academy” star Steve Guttenberg, who also lives in the area, urged residents who abandoned their vehicles to leave their car keys so fire engines can get through.
“This is not a parking lot,” the actor told KTLA5. “We really need people to move their cars.

Whitney Cummings

The comedian noted that although people may be hesitant to leave because it “clogs the roads,” she advised, “this fire is moving so fast that [it is] not the time to take chances.”
She concluded, “This changes everything forever.”
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

Chrissy Teigen documented her “surreal” experience packing to evacuate her Beverly Hills, Calif., home on Wednesday.
The model called Los Angeles a “hellscape,” telling her followers she didn’t “have the words” to describe the devastation.
She and John Legend brought their four kids to a hotel, along with just as many dogs and one bearded dragon.
Maria Shriver
Maria Shriver was in shock over the “out of control” wildfire while she documented some of the wreckage, as seen here. CBS
Maria Shriver lamented in an Instagram post the “heartbreaking, devastating, beyond belief” wildfire alongside video footage a journalist took of the wreckage left behind.
“Everything is gone,” the former first lady of California, who was married to ex-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, said.
“Our neighborhood, our restaurants. All our friends have lost everything. We have evacuated, but are safe. But people have lost everything.”

Elizabeth Chambers

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly at risk of having to leave their $14 million home in Montecito, Calif., as the Sussexes face power outages and evacuations if the wildfire spreads.
According to the Telegraph, a Southern California Edison spokesman said it was considering power shutdowns because of “a Red Flag Warning and increased risk of wildfires.”
The rep reportedly said “affected customers” were being contacted, “including Montecito.”
Jen Atkin

“This is weird to post but our house is gone,” she captioned a selfie of herself crying in the car. “We just got confirmation. Our whole area demolished. So many are displaced and feeling scared right now it’s almost too much to comprehend.”
The Ouai founder said that they will “be OK” since they “always push thru [sic].” Atkin — who has worked with the Kardashian-Jenner family — also shared before-and-after photos of her home that was destroyed.
Bozoma Saint John

The former marketing executive took to her Instagram on Jan. 9 to mourn the loss of her home, which she shared with her daughter, Lael.
“It is gone. This is an unimaginable loss. I grieve with the rest of Los Angeles as it burns…,” she captioned a photo carousel, which included precious memories of her home.
Elsewhere in the caption, she noted that the beachfront property was “the house I wanted. The house I prayed for. The house I worked in blood, sweat and tears for.”
Jhené Aiko

Jeff Bridges

The four-bedroom residence with views of the Pacific Ocean had been in the Bridges family for generations, according to TMZ.
The house was reportedly inherited by the actor, his brother, fellow actor Beau Bridges, and their sister.
Jeff’s rep noted that he did not live in the home.
Candy Spelling

Tori Spelling’s mom, Candy Spelling, lost her $23 million vacation home in Malibu as a result of the Palisades Fire.
“I’m in shock and processing this massive loss for our family,” Candy told TMZ on Jan. 9. “I am beyond grateful for the memories. It was truly a wonderful gift to have.”
The Broadway producer added that her late husband, famed TV and film producer Aaron Spelling, “loved” the beachfront property.
The residence had been Candy’s home for the last 52 years.
Joshua Jackson

Joshua Jackson’s Topanga Canyon home was destroyed in one of Los Angeles’ wildfires.
The “Dawson’s Creek” alum purchased the cliffside house on the border of Malibu in 2001 for $865,000. It had four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
A vintage Volkswagen Khamann Ghia sports car also burned in the driveway, as seen in the photo above.
“First and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are ok. My daughter, my family, my neighbors all made it out safely,” Jackson told Deadline in a statement on Jan. 12.
“Sadly my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.”
Bella Hadid

On Jan. 9, the “Black-ish” alum shared a selfie of himself in a hospital bed with IVs running through his arms in honor of his 53rd birthday.
“Thank u all for your birthday well wishes. I sure could use them. Thank you all,” he captioned the post.
Though Cole did not disclose what health issues he was dealing with, the following day, the comedian said he had been discharged from the hospital and had to immediately pack some of his belongings to evacuate his home as the flames continued to destroy the area.
“This day is devastating!!!!” he captioned an Instagram video of himself driving away from his home.
“Left the hospital earlier, sick af, went home, then had to packed [sic] what I could to evacuate. As I drove away I seen the fire rising from behind my house, It’s a nightmare!!!” he added.
The “Deon Cole: OK, Mister” star was able to take the flowers his mom, Charleen Cole, gave him before she died in September 2021.

JJ Redick revealed he “wept and wailed” after losing his Pacific Palisades, Calif., home in the LA fires.
“I went through most of the village and it’s all gone, and I don’t think you can ever prepare yourself for something like that. Our home is gone,” the Los Angeles Lakers head coach said to reporters on Jan. 10, per CNN.
“Everything we owned that was of any importance to us, almost 20 years together as a couple and 10 years of parenting, was in that house. There’s certain things that you can’t replace, that will never be replaced,” he added.

Tin Knowles, mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, said her Malibu home was destroyed in the LA fires.
“This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone !!” she captioned a Jan. 8 Instagram post of a view of dolphins in the ocean from her home.
The fashion designer then thanked the “brave men and women” of their fire department who “risked their lives in dangerous conditions.”
Tina said the outcome could have been “so much worse without the dedication of the disaster workers and first responders.”
“I am praying diligently for our beautiful City of Los Angeles !! We are resilient though and we will recover! ‘This too shall pass’❤️,” she concluded.

“Like literally a week ago we in Miami to come home to this is crazy like mind Blowing 🙏🙏🙏,” he went on, adding that the musician “wasn’t gone say nothing I feel like she should cause this shii is crazy how this happened to everyone 🙏.”
