On July 16, TMZ reported that Diddy was making moves to reform and no longer wanted to be a “bad boy” for the rest of his life. It is known that this tycoon voluntarily signed up for therapy and many rehabilitation programs at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
These programs include STOP, a course to prevent sexual assault, domestic violence, and dating violence. There is also psychotherapy and a drug treatment program with Dr. Harry K. Wexler. Diddy has been in rehab since before his arrest in September 2024 and has continued to do so while in custody. Sources say the 55-year-old music producer is working on self-improvement and working toward redemption. Page Six has reached out to Diddy’s reps for comment but has not yet received a response.
Diddy voluntarily participated in many therapy programs in prison, aiming to improve himself and reform.
Diddy was convicted of trafficking in persons for prostitution on July 2, but was acquitted of the two most serious charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit extortion, which were all lesser charges. The jury’s verdict shocked the world because the evidence of Diddy’s decades-long horrific sex crimes was overwhelming.
Immediately after the court’s verdict, Marc Agnifilo – Diddy’s main lawyer – continued to request his client’s release. The reason is that this tycoon is no longer facing the most serious charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit extortion, and is also unlikely to flee because he no longer has a passport. The defense proposed a bail of $1 million (VND 26.1 billion). However, the prosecutor strongly opposed Diddy’s release. Therefore, the judge rejected Diddy’s bail request and asked the tycoon to continue to stay in jail until the final verdict is officially announced.
Diddy’s acquittal on two most serious charges angers the public
Diddy said he did not want to return to the Metropolitan Detention Center – a place likened to “hell on earth”. In court, the tycoon shook his head and clasped his hands in prayer before the judge officially announced his bail application. Diddy is known to have been extremely miserable, struggling with unpalatable meals at the Metropolitan Detention Center. The notorious artist has applied for bail three times during the investigation and trial, but the court has rejected each time.
However, with his conviction for trafficking in persons for prostitution (the act of intentionally transporting another person across state or international borders for the purpose of prostitution), Diddy faces a total sentence of 20 years in prison (due to being convicted twice) and will have a hard time escaping prison.
