HUGE BOOST: Mason Mount must follows an ‘individual’ programme as returning in Man Utd’s training session

Mason Mount has handed Manchester United another boost after he began training on the grass at Carrington again on Wednesday.

Mount has missed the last nine games since suffering a calf injury five weeks ago, but it’s hoped that the England international could return to action early in the New Year as he follows an individual training programme.

The 24-year-old has struggled since joining United from Chelsea for £60million in the summer, registering just one assist and no goals in 12 games for his new club.

This season, Mount’s problems have been a symbol of United’s offensive problems. However, Erik ten Hag’s team found their rhythm in the second half of the team’s Boxing Day victory over Aston Villa, as Alejandro Garnacho doubled his team’s goal total, Marcus Rashford found his scoring touch, and Rasmus Hojlund scored his first Premier League goal.

On Wednesday morning, Mount worked out alone in the rain while the rest of his teammates finished recovering after their thrilling victory over Aston Villa.

After a dull beginning to his time in red, he will be looking to really launch his career at Old Trafford.
