BBC News quoted sources from the US police as saying that testified at the scene reported to the police about a gunman on the roof at the campaign of US presidential candidate Donald Trump, but US agents ignored the warning.

A Trump supporter said he spotted a suspicious man on the roof of a nearby building. The man reported the discovery to police.

campaign rally  in Butler, Pennsylvania. The assassination left the American politician with an ear injury and was immediately taken to a medical facility for examination. The assassination suspect was neutralized by agents.

Incumbent US President Joe Biden said the assassination needed a thorough investigation.

Regarding the assassination, the Deputy communications director of presidential candidate Donald Trump, Mr. Margot Martin, released the first video of this politician after the assassination on social network X.

“Strong and resilient. He will never stop fighting for America,” the former US President’s assistant wrote in the video caption.

Video footage shows Mr Trump stepping off a plane at Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey. The politician is expected to spend the night at his private golf club in the state. Mr Trump is heavily guarded by bodyguards armed with automatic weapons.
