On May 16, President Donald Trump attracted attention by sharing: “Has anyone noticed that since I said, ‘I hate Taylor Swift ,’ she is no longer famous?”
Mr. Trump has never denied his hostility towards the owner of the hit Look What You Made Me Do. The head of the United States has repeatedly actively waged war against the pop superstar born in 1989.

The first time Mr. Trump attacked Taylor was recorded in 2018. At that time, Mr. Trump was serving as President of the United States in his first term from 2017-2021.
In the 2018 US midterm elections (congressional elections), made his first public political statement, supporting two Democratic candidates in the state of Tennessee.
Mr Trump, a Republican, was not happy about Taylor siding with the Democrats, saying: “I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now.”
The animosity intensified when Taylor criticized him during the 2020 election. Insiders said Trump asserted that he was more famous and had more loyal fans than the Blank Space singer .
However, Mr. Trump did not make any moves or statements targeting Taylor at that stage.
In the 2024 election, Mr. Trump repeatedly mentioned the singer’s name, even before she made her choice of which candidate to support.
In mid-February 2024, Mr. Trump criticized Taylor for being ungrateful. He announced that he would sign and take responsibility for the Music Modernization Act to support the careers of Taylor and other artists – something that Joe Biden could not and would not do. Therefore, the White House owner found it difficult to understand that Taylor chose to side with Mr. Biden and oppose him.
In August of that year, Trump shared on his personal page a series of photos of Taylor Swift created by artificial intelligence. These images contained false content related to the pop superstar’s political views during the election. That is, Taylor and the Swifties fan community called for voting for Trump, instead of the Democratic candidate.
About a month later, right after Taylor announced her vote for Kamala Harris, Mr. Trump warned that the 8X beauty might have to pay the price for choosing the Democratic Party.
He also produced a replica of the T-shirt sold during Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour to use as campaign merchandise.
The climax was on September 15, 2024, when Mr. Trump bluntly declared: “I hate Taylor Swift”.
Despite winning the election in November 2024, Mr. Trump still seems to be angry with Taylor Swift.
In February, after Taylor’s boyfriend’s football team, the Kansas City Chiefs, lost the 2025 Super Bowl, the politician, born in 1946, mocked Taylor for being booed by the audience, while he was cheered enthusiastically when he arrived at the game venue.

European and American media believe that Mr. Trump’s hostility towards Taylor stems from the “Country Music Princess’s” overwhelming influence. In 2024, it is believed that having Taylor’s support is a big advantage in the race for the White House. Mr. Biden’s victory in 2020 is the clearest example.
Although the reality shows that Taylor’s impact is not as magical as rumored, her refusal to give up somewhat confirms that Mr. Trump sees her as a real threat.
This time, Taylor Swift is not the only person mentioned by Mr. Trump. Bruce Springsteen was criticized by the US President as stupid and hateful. The reason is because the 76-year-old singer enthusiastically supports Mr. Biden.
“I never liked him, never liked his music or his radical leftist political views. More importantly, he is not a talented person,” Mr. Trump expressed.
Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen have not commented on Mr Trump’s attack.
