Portugal’s head coach, Roberto Martínez, has praised Cristiano Ronaldo, emphasizing the unique contribution the legendary forward brings to the team. Martínez expressed his confidence in Ronaldo for the upcoming Euro 2024 in Germany.
“There is no other player who can contribute to a locker room like Cristiano Ronaldo,” stated the Spanish coach during a press conference ahead of Portugal’s match against Croatia. “He is an incredible goalscorer. This will be his sixth Euro, and he is the only player to have played in five Euro championships.”
After a brief vacation following commitments with his club Al Nassr, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Rúben Neves have joined Portugal’s training camp. However, Martínez confirmed that Ronaldo, Neves, and Pepe (who is nursing minor injuries) will not play in the upcoming match against Croatia. They are expected to be available for the final friendly against Ireland before the Euro 2024.
Portugal, under Roberto Martínez, is grouped in Group F for the Euro, alongside Turkey, the Czech Republic, and Georgia.
