‘UNSTOPPABLE’ – Griezmann is bitter Mason Greenwood as Man Utd star made a DEVIL dance with 3 key pass, 4 dribbles to help Getafe comeback over Atletico Madrid

As Manchester United stumble from one insipid attacking display to another, Mason Greenwood continues to impress at Getafe.

He continued his sterling form with another world-class display, this time away to elite team Atletico Madrid.

Mason Greenwood’s explosive performance on the right wing made Atletico Madrid pay dearly. Antoine Griezmann gave a helpless interview about the Man Utd striker

“Mason Greenwood was really causing us problems in the second half, we couldn’t stop him and it cost us the game,” the French star admitted on Viaplay.

Mason Greenwood made a significant contribution to Getafe’s outstanding performance against Atletico Madrid in round 18 of La Liga, even if he did not score or assist.

Getafe created a score chase when they held Atletico Madrid to a 3-3 draw right on their opponent’s field. Coach Diego Simeone’s team even had a two-goal lead until the 87th minute, but still managed to equalize.

Greenwood is one of the factors that make a big difference on the field. The English striker made a left-handed shot in the 53rd minute, forcing Jan Oblak to push the ball to Borja Mayoral, helping the striker score a 1-1 equalizer for Getafe.

In the 87th minute, Greenwood made an excellent dribble from the right wing, passing two Atletico players to cross inside, opening up the opportunity for Oscar Rodriguez to score and shorten the score to 2-3. Then, at 90+3 minutes of extra time, Mayoral scored from the penalty spot to help Getafe have a dramatic 3-3 draw.

Greenwood did not have any assists or goals in this match, but the English striker’s performance was truly impressive. He continuously tormented the Atletico defense with annoying dribbles and shots with both feet.

Greenwood had 82 touches of the ball as every attacking sequence had his footprint for Getafe.

With 3 key passes and 4 successful dribbles, Greenwood was a menace for the Atletico defence as he repeatedly surged infield after beating his man and scrambling the defence.

He took 5 shots at goal, two of which found their target, including a rasping drive from outside the area which had Jan Oblak parrying it away with strong hands.

In addition, Greenwood is also very active in supporting defense with 5 Recoveries and 4 Duels won (Stats courtesy of sofascore)

The striker born in 2001 scoring 8 points from Sofascore, only less than Antoine Griezmann (8.1) and Borja Mayoral (8.1), both players scored doubles this match.

After the initial period of mainly sitting on the bench at Getafe, the English striker has continuously started for the La Liga club recently. He plays an important role in helping Getafe flourish. In the previous round, Greenwood had 1 goal and 1 assist in Getafe’s 3-0 victory at Sevilla.

After 15 appearances for Getafe in all competitions this season, Greenwood has 5 goals and 4 assists. Greenwood’s high form made Getafe offer to buy this player outright. In addition to Getafe, many other teams in La Liga also want to recruit the English striker. However, everything still depends on Man Utd, because the “Red Devils” only loaned Greenwood to Getafe until the end of this season.
